As a plus sized woman,I find it very hard to understand why it is so hard for the Fashion industry to consider Plus Sized women. For a very long time,it was and still is very difficult shopping for plus sized clothing and lingerie for the curvy women. I must say times have definitely changed because we are in the media more now than ever before.Plus Sized fashion has been growing in the fashion industry were there are many options to pick from, since some designers are starting to cater to the curvy women now.
I must say that there are alot of plus sized models in the media advocating in the Fashion industry for them to treat plus sized women equal.I congratulate Model Ashley Graham who walked the runway during New York Fashion week in her own lacy lingerie #IAmSizeSexy using her platform to promote body positivity to the world. She is also promoting Lane Bryant #PlusIsEqual Campaign.
Also during the New York Fashion week,Project Runway made history by debuting a Plus Sized Collection.I guess if it wasn’t for Project Runway Mentor Tim Gunn requesting over a year ago for Project Runway to have a season with every model larger that a size 12, they probably would have never even considered the idea,.It would be nice if Tim Gunn ventured out to make a Plus Sized Affordable line in which I know it would be fabulous because he has great taste.
Dazzlers hope is on the way for the Plus Sized woman…..Finally….
